Birthday reminders on WhatsApp
Text Poko a person's name, birthday, and reminder time, with “every year” if you want it to repeat. The birthday reminder arrives in your WhatsApp chat, where you can decide how to wish them.
Looking for a birthday bot that automatically posts greetings to a group? This setup is for reminding you. It does not automatically send a birthday wish to the person or post to their group.
Set a yearly birthday reminder in three steps
Use a name you will recognise, spell out the month, and include a time. Edit Priya's name and birthday in the example before sending it.
Send the birthday and the repeat
Tap the example to open Poko. Replace the name, date, and time with the birthday you want to remember, then press Send.

Read Poko's confirmation. Check that the day and month are right, the reminder repeats yearly, and the time is in your timezone. If this year's date has passed, check that the next occurrence is the one you expect.
Add a separate reminder for a gift
For advance notice, create a second reminder on an earlier date. In this example, the gift reminder is May 8 and the birthday is May 12. Change both to fit your plans.

A reminder for you, with the birthday wish left to you
A reminder you set in your own Poko chat is delivered to you. When it arrives, open the person's chat and write your message, make a call, or arrange the gift.
Poko does not scan your address book to find birthdays. Enter each date yourself. If you need reminders sent to another person, that is a separate feature requiring their permission; mentioning their name in your own birthday reminder does not message them.
Check, change, or cancel a saved birthday
Send “list” to see pending reminders, including birthdays. Use distinct names so you can identify each one. To change a reminder, name the person and give the corrected date and time, then check the new confirmation.
To remove one, send “cancel N” with its number from the latest list. If you added both a birthday and a gift reminder, they are separate schedules: change or cancel each one you no longer need.

The same method works for a wedding anniversary or another event on a fixed calendar date. Include “every year” to repeat it, or omit the repeat for a one-time plan.
For an occasion whose calendar date changes each year, look up the correct date and set a one-time reminder. A yearly repeat on a fixed date will not calculate a moving festival date for you.

- How do I set a birthday reminder on WhatsApp?
- Message Pokobot with the name, date, and time, such as “remind me about Priya's birthday every year on May 12 at 9am.” Check the confirmation. The reminder arrives in your own WhatsApp chat.
- Will it remind me every year?
- Include “every year” to make it repeat. The schedule continues while your trial or subscription is active, until you cancel it. Without a repeat, it is a one-time reminder.
- Does this birthday bot automatically send WhatsApp wishes?
- No. This setup sends a reminder to you. You choose and send the birthday wish yourself; it does not automatically post a greeting in someone else's chat or group.
- Can I get reminded a few days before a birthday?
- Yes. Create a separate reminder for the earlier date, such as May 8 for buying a gift before a May 12 birthday. Keep both schedules if you also want a reminder on the birthday.
