Days until Thanksgiving 2026

43days
– hours– minutes

It falls onThursday, November 26, 2026

Thanksgiving is always the fourth Thursday of November in the United States.

Thanksgiving is a federal holiday, so banks, post offices and most offices close. The Friday after is not a federal holiday but most people take it, which makes it the busiest travel week of the year in the US.

The things that go wrong are the same every year: the turkey is not ordered in time, the flight or train sells out, and someone forgets to check whether the store is open on the day. A reminder a week or two before fixes all three.

Questions, answered

Is Thanksgiving always on a Thursday?
Yes. Since 1941, US federal law fixes it on the fourth Thursday of November, so it falls between November 22 and November 28.
When is Canadian Thanksgiving?
The second Monday of October, more than a month earlier. This page tracks the US date.
Is Black Friday a holiday?
No. It is the day after Thanksgiving and most shops open early for sales, but it is not a federal holiday.
How do the reminders work?
Each Remind me button opens WhatsApp with one message already typed for Poko, dated for this year's occurrence. You press Send, Poko confirms the date, and the message arrives on WhatsApp when it is due. Nothing is sent by this page.
