# Days until Easter 2027

> How many days until Easter 2027? Countdown to Easter Sunday, the dates of Good Friday and Easter Monday, why it moves, and WhatsApp reminders for travel and the long weekend.

It falls on Sunday, March 28, 2027. Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21 March, so it falls between 22 March and 25 April.

Easter 2027 is 28 March, with Good Friday on 26 March and Easter Monday on 29 March. Easter 2028 is 16 April. Good Friday and Easter Monday are public holidays in the UK and most of Europe; in the US neither is a federal holiday.
The four-day weekend is the most travelled in the UK after Christmas. Trains and flights book out weeks ahead, and most shops close on Easter Sunday.

## Questions, answered

**Why does Easter move?** It is set by the lunar calendar: the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox. That gives a range of 22 March to 25 April.

**Is Good Friday a holiday in the US?** Not federally. Some states observe it and markets close, but most offices stay open.

**When is Orthodox Easter?** Usually later, because the Orthodox churches calculate it on the Julian calendar. In some years the two coincide.

**How do the reminders work?** Each Remind me button opens WhatsApp with one message already typed for Poko, dated for this year's occurrence. You press Send, Poko confirms the date, and the message arrives on WhatsApp when it is due. Nothing is sent by this page.
